In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 28, 2022 No. PD-459 “On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023-2025”, It is being planned to implement the investment project “Modernization and reconstruction of main power lines” by JSC “NEGU” at the expense of Asian Development Bank (ADB) loans.

Based on the demand of ADB, the report “Initial environmental examination” on ecology and environmental protection was developed and translated into Uzbek.

Brief description of the project:

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the purpose of financing the project of improving electricity transmission lines. High-voltage power transmission lines with a total length of about 358 km in 7 regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Fergana, Kashkadarya, Bukhara, Surkhandarya, Samarkand and Navoi) as well as 4 220 kV substations “Faizabad”, “Zafar”, “Obi-hayat” and “Zarafshan” will be modernized and reconstructed within the scope of this project.
